We’re excited to welcome Dr. Mark Nash to the Charter Vista Landscaping team! With decades of experience and a lifelong passion for horticulture, Dr. Nash brings a deep understanding of both the art and science of landscape management—along with a genuine commitment to helping clients and team members alike grow and thrive.
A Lifelong Commitment to Landscape Excellence
Dr. Nash’s journey in horticulture spans more than 35 years. His experience includes 13 months as a Research Assistant with the Texas A&M University Agricultural Experiment Station in Plano, Texas, followed by four years as the state-wide Nursery Extension Specialist at the University of Tennessee. For the past 31 years, he served as Horticulturist and Manager of the Landscape Management Department at Rich-Way Landscape in Collierville, where he helped shape and sustain some of the region’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.
His academic background is equally impressive, holding a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from Mississippi State University, an M.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from Clemson University, and a Ph.D. in Ornamental Horticulture from The University of Georgia.
Building on a Legacy of Personal Care
“I am excited to be joining the Charter Vista Landscaping team and am looking forward to connecting with our clients,” Dr. Nash shares. “I am committed to continuing with and building on CVL’s long-standing goal of providing personal care for our clients’ landscapes.”
This dedication to personal, attentive service is at the heart of what makes Charter Vista special—and it’s a perfect match for Dr. Nash’s philosophy of thoughtful, intentional landscape management.
A Passion for Teaching and Growing Together
Since childhood, Dr. Nash has found joy in cultivating both plants and people. “Landscape management has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember,” he says. “Another passion has been learning and teaching others about horticultural practices. It’s incredibly fulfilling to connect with people who appreciate the beauty they can experience in their own landscapes.”
As part of the Charter Vista team, Dr. Nash plans to mentor and guide fellow team members, helping them deepen their skills and understanding of plant care, soil health, and design balance. “Much of my focus will be on teaching and helping others on our team grow,” he explains. “I want to ensure that the landscapes entrusted to us receive the care and attention they deserve.”
Another way he plans to share his knowledge is through the CVL blog and newsletter! Check out his first post here.
We’re proud to have Dr. Nash join us as we continue creating and maintaining landscapes that inspire pride, comfort, and connection for our clients and community.
